Tokyo — Sony sought to bite into Apple’s news yesterday with its own announcement that it is introducting a new hard-disk-based Walkman.
The models will come in 6GB and 20GB capacities and will initially launch in Japan before hitting the U.S. market. The players will feature ability to choose frequently listened to songs and to sort songs by the year they were released.
U.S. retail availability and pricing is still undetermined, according to a Sony spokesman.
