has licensed its interactive program guide (IPG) technology to Sony for consumer electronics and online content-delivery services.
The agreement covers Rovi IPG patents and guide-related metadata for show descriptions, editorial reviews and multimedia content. The technology was developed to help consumers easily navigate and find personally meaningful entertainment regardless of the source, Rovi said.
Serving as a complement to these capabilities, the Rovi Advertising Network connects device makers to a growing range of leading brands that wish to reach and engage consumers on their platforms.
