Sony Launches App Contest For Dash Internet Viewer

San Diego – Sony launched a
contest to entice app developers to create new apps for its tabletop Dash
Personal Internet Viewer.

During the next four months, Sony will provide
Dash units to eligible entrants on loan, enabling the contestants to create new
Dash apps. Cash prizes of more than $5,000 will be awarded to developers of top
apps.

More details and contest rules
are available at

.

 Sony’s Dash features a 7-inch touchscreen,
Wi-Fi and access to Internet services.
The device streams pushed information services, downloads apps from a
store of more than 1,000 free apps, streams Pandora and Slacker Internet radio
services, streams the Netflix and Hulu Plus video-streaming services, and
connects to Facebook and YouTube. It also features photo viewer and alarm clock
functions.

The Dash is
currently available for about $149 at Sony Style retail stores,

www.sonystyle.com

and throughout the Sony
authorized retailer network nationwide.

Sometime
during the summer, Sony will expand the Dash selection to three models with the
launch of a portable AC/DC model and a new non-portable model.
