Sony Bows Four New Xplod Car Radios

San Diego — Among Sony’s four new Xplod receivers due in September is its first model with a USB connection for iPods, MP3 players and flash drives.

The top-of-the-line CD receiver, CDX-GT630UI also includes a feature Sony named Zappin that scans through short clips from your music library until you find a selection.

The unit also charges the iPod/MP3 player and has a jump mode for skipping blocks of music while searching. The CDX-GT630UI is satellite radio and HD Radio ready and it supports MP3 and non-DRM WMA and non-DRM AAC. It has front, rear and subwoofer preamp outputs and a flip-down detachable faceplate at a suggested retail of $160.

The CDX-GT430IP CD receiver offers iPod control and charging with a supplied cable. It is satellite and HD Radio ready, with a jump mode, MP3 and non-DRM WMA playback and selectable front and rear/sub preamp outputs, at a suggested retail of $130.

The CDX-GT330 and CDX-GT130 offer front-panel auxiliary inputs for iPod connectivity. The CDX-GT330 is satellite radio and HD Radio ready at $100 and the entry-level CDX-GT130 carries a suggested retail of $80.
