Santa Clara, Calif. – Embattled SONICblue fired its CEO and Chairman of the Board Ken Potashner yesterday.
The company’s board of directors gave no reason for the move, but appointed L. Gregory Ballard, the firm’s executive vice president for marketing and product management, to serve as an interim CEO. SONICblue is the maker of the ReplayTV digital TV recorder and Rio MP3 digital audio players.
Potashner had been at SONICblue’s helm since 1998 and oversaw its changeover from a computer graphics company to a CE manufacturer.
