Mountain View, Calif. — Online photo-sharing site SmugMug said Tuesday it has launched a new easy-to-use version of its service.
The new SmugMug is said to feature a new look while offering 15-plus design templates for personal pages.
Photographers of all experience levels are urged to safely store and share their photos on the site through a SmugMug subscription ($40/year).
The site includes online tips and tools for new users, including step-by-step directions for setting up and personalizing sites, and 365 day/year help from the SmugMug Support Heroes team.
More than 15 customizable design templates are available to choose from, along with extra tailoring tools to tweak the look of each user’s site.
Subscribers have the ability to view and share photos from any device, including laptops, tablets, smartphones and more.
User’s are offered simple drag-and-drop tools to organize photo collections, order prints and create photo gifts.
Rather than upgrade the current site, co-founders Chris and Don MacAskill asked the SmugMug team to reinvent the entire experience.
“We saw this as an opportunity to combine what we’ve learned through our eleven years, and make SmugMug into what we always imagined it could be,” said Brian Strong, SmugMug lead engineer.
SmugMug offers newcomers a free 14-day trial, with membership after that starting at $5/month.
