Ft. Myers, Fla. — SmartDisk has introduced two higher capacity models in its FlashTrax line of handheld digital media storage devices.

FlashTrax features a 3.5-inch LCD screen and control pad, allowing users to scroll through images, zoom in and out, pan, or view a slide show. The unit can also be connected to a TV, allowing users to view images stored on the FlashTrax on their televisions. A remote control and a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery is included.

In addition to standard JPEG image files, the units can display most proprietary RAW files and motion JPEGs. It can also playback MP3 music files on an embedded speaker or connect to external speakers or headphones.

SmartDisk is also positioning the USB 2.0 FlashTrax as external hard drive for desktop computers, allowing users to backup date files.
