Sling To Offer Children’s Shows From HIT

Foster City, Calif., — EchoStar’s Sling Media unit said Monday it will begin offering visitors to free access to popular streaming children’s television programs through a deal reached with children’s video entertainment provider HIT Entertainment.

Sling Media said that in coming weeks such shows as “Thomas The Tank Engine,” “Barney,” “Bob The Builder,” and others, will be featured on its Web site.

Sling Media will create a custom HIT Entertainment-branded channel within, to give Sling users direct access to the HIT-controlled TV shows. is an ad-supported online video portal that gives users free access to a library of diverse content from television networks, movie studios, sports leagues and top Web sites.
