New York - SiriusXM has updated its Apple iOS Internet Radio app with an iPad-optimized user interface.
The iPad interface delivers full-screen album art and artist biographies to enhance the app's visual appeal while a song plays on the iPad's 9.7-inch screen. The update also includes technical improvements to improve audio quality and performance when programming is streamed over cellular to the iPad and iPhone, the company said.
The SiriusXM app streams 120 SiriusXM channels of commercial-free music, sports, news, talk, entertainment and comedy programming. Other features include a user-programmable favorite-channel function, a look-around feature that displays information about songs playing on other channels, and tagging of songs for later purchase through Apple's iTunes store.
Consumers get a seven-day introductory trial of SiriusXM Internet Radio on the iPad when they download the app.
