New York — Sirius Satellite Radio said it ended 2006 with about 6 million subscribers, marking an 82 percent increase over its 2005 year-end subscriber base of 3.3 million subscribers.
Sirius also said it achieved its first-ever quarter of positive free cash flow.
Citing slower than expected sales over the Thanksgiving weekend, Sirius lowered its subscriber guidance from a previously stated 6.3 million, to a projected range of 5.9 million to 6.1 million total subscribers by the end of the year, or a total of 2.6 million to 2.8 million net new subscribers for 2006.
