Arlington, Va. The 2010
SINOCES, China’s largest technology trade event, will be held July 8-11 in
Qingdao, China, and is expected to draw more than 500 global companies to
exhibit new technologies.
Co-sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA),
producer of International CES, and in partnership with the China Electronics
Chamber of Commerce (CECC) and the City of Qingdao, CEA said it will feature advancements
in 3DTV, telecommunications and connected home appliances.
“The Chinese CE market is booming — it accounts for 13
percent of the entire global consumer electronics industry,” said Gary Shapiro,
president and CEO, CEA. “SINOCES provides international consumer technology
companies with an opportunity to break into this dynamic marketplace, which, with
support of the CECC and the city of Qingdao, has grown into China’s largest
trade event for technology.”
Industry and government leaders from around the world will
speak at the 2010 SINOCES, including former U.S. Trade Representative Susan
Schwab, who will deliver remarks at the SINOCES opening dinner ceremony on July
7. Additionally, CEA’s Shapiro will share his insights on the consumer
technology industry during a keynote address at the SINOCES Industry Summit
Forum on July 8.
New areas on the SINOCES show floor include the 3G
Telecommunication Pavilion, which will feature China’s three largest telecom
companies, China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom; the Industrial Design
Pavilion focused on the latest design trends; and the Home Appliances for the
Countryside Pavilion, featuring companies participating in the Chinese government
rebate program, which helps to provide CE products for citizens in rural China.
Additionally, the International CES Best of Innovations
Product Showcase will be on display at the upcoming 2010 SINOCES, featuring 28
award-winning technology products impacting the CE industry. The Innovations
Showcase is making its only appearance outside the United States, offering
SINOCES attendees a unique opportunity to see some of the most innovative
technology products in the world.
The 2010 SINOCES will feature the International Forum on
Sustainability of Consumer Electronics, produced by CEA and Vogel Burda Media’s
CHIP
magazine.
The Forum, scheduled for July 8, will discuss achieving sustainable growth,
green product design and manufacturing and the consumer electronics market in a
low carbon era.
