Emeryville, Calif. –– Simple.TV said Thursday it has selected the Gracenote eyeQ system to power the electronic program guide for all digital basic cable and over-the-air programming for North American Simple.TV users.
A software update featuring the Gracenote eyeQ TV listings data and other related metadata will be made available to Simple.TV customers in the U.S. this month.
Simple.TV offers cord-cutting viewers an on-screen guide to help them find free, over-the-air programs to watch and record, like guides typically offered by cable, satellite and telco TV service providers.
A simple search using a Simple.TV smart phone or tablet app will retrieve related episodes including recorded shows, future airdates, program synopsis and cast and crew information and images.
Gracenote eyeQ is offered as a solution for interactive and electronic program guides featuring TV listings for more than 30 countries, up to 21 days of listings coverage and metadata for more than a million movies and TV programs.
