Simonson, Marco Join HP’s DE Team

Palo Alto, Calif. — Hewlett-Packard continues to build up its digital entertainment products group by adding long-time CE industry veterans Lee Simonson and Stokely Marco to its sales and marketing team.

Both men will report to Jan Luc Blakborn, HP’s digital entertainment director, who said the new additions to the team “will help HP take the next steps toward becoming a leader in the connected home space.”

Simonson, who is a 10-year veteran of Best Buy where he at one time led the retailer’s multibillion dollar TV business, was named digital entertainment channel development manager.

Marco, who was formerly a product planning director with Toshiba working with the HD DVD launch among other products, was named microdisplay TV product manager.

Simonson will work with Ron Evans, regional retail accounts category manager; Perry Ralph, mass merchant category manager; and Ray Rafitti, who will manage relationships with national retailers.

Marco will join Dean Sanderson, flat-panel TV product manager, and Doreen Canova, HP digital entertainment center product manager.

Other members of the DE team include Scott Erickson, business process manager; Tim Canney, research analysts; and Josh Rush, marketing manager.

“Expanding the breadth of its consumer electronics experience gives HP credibility as a significant presence in Digital Entertainment,” Blakborn said in a statement. “This new team brings talent and expertise that will allow HP to achieve the next strategic steps on its DE roadmap.”
