Sim2 Adds High-End 3D DLP Projectors

SUNRISE, FLA — Sim2 USA recently announced availability and pricing on 2014 high-end, high-performance FullHD home cinema DLP projectors.

The U.S. arm for the Italian high-performance video projector manufacturer, said its 2014 Sirio-edition active- shutter 3D single-chip DLP ($20,000 suggested retail with standard lens) and its Superlumis Pro active- shutter 3D, three-chip DLP projector ($65,000) are both available through authorized Sim2 custom installers now.

The new Sirio model was said to have been designed for use in large entertainment systems where high light output, quality, flexibility and performance are required.

The system uses five different lenses, a 350-watt dual-lamp design and improved light-tuned optical elements, to deliver up to 7,000 ANSI lumens of brightness.

The Sim2 projector is said to produce a brighter image for high-quality presentations in daytime conditions without the screen reflection typical of some large-screen flat-panel TV technologies.

The system includes Sim2’s Perfect Fit technology, full remote IP management, total IP upgrading and control, IP remote service and check, auto-calibration via high-precision probe (Sim2 AutoCal), and customized calibration to customer’s requirements.

The unit can be seamlessly integrated into most situations using a choice of five lenses, multiple screens and ability to stack units for increased brightness.

Meanwhile, the Superlumis Pro is a 3D active-shutter, three-chip DLP projector incorporating a new electronics platform, called ProSim2, which adds new robust and stable software to enhance video game play.

Superlumis Pro features easy serviceability and an extended product lifetime, the company said.

Superlumis Pro uses wired connections and a “future-proof” system that simplifies full firmware and software upgrades, while allowing real-time adjustments and monitoring.

According to Sim2, owners no longer have to be in the theater to know that the projector is running well. The unit uses an intelligent device that monitors its own internal parameters and health status and securely shares that data with outside SIM2 service centers to give customers more control and peace of mind.

Key product features include a new, high-power (350-watt), dimmable lamp and lamp driver with up to 5,000 ANSI lumens of brightness; increased detail, a 30,000:1 contrast ratio (2D mode); new Color Management software; and Sim2 professional customer care.

Optional “outside-the-box” system design options include: the Sim2 Sliding Filter System (SFS) and the Sim2 Integrated probe feedback system (Sim2 Autocal).

The SFS adds control over different color-reproduction requirements, including Home Cinema and DCI, where dedicated color reproduction is a key technical factor. The Sim2 Autocal uses Color Auto-calibration, Ambient Light and Ambient Color Compensation, and Background Light Measure to keep constant onscreen image quality even with changes to ambient room lighting.

The Superlumis Pro is one of six projectors to make up Sim2’s Grand Cinema series of three-chip DLP projectors for 2014.

Other Grand Cinema models include the Lumis Uno E, Lumis 3D-PF, Superlumis, Superlumis Duo and the limited-edition Fuoriserie. Prices range from $26,000 for the entry-level Lumis Uno E, to $120,000 for the flagship Superlumis Duo.

Commercially available now, Sim2 is presenting the new lineup March 4 at the Luxury Technology Show, at the Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 West 18th Street, in New York City.
