THE Show Set For May 30-June 1

Newport Beach, Calif. —The Home Entertainment Show (THE Show) will return to the Newport Beach area for the fourth consecutive year and will run from May 30 through June 1.

The consumer show, which attracted more than 7,000 attendees in each of the past two years, will be promoted via a major print campaign in Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego County; radio sponsorships with two radio stations; and through social media, show management said.

More than 250 exhibitors will display products in more than 140 exhibit spaces at the Hilton Hotel and the Atrium Hotel in Irvine, Calif.

Consumers will also get a chance to sit in on educational seminars hosted in conjunction with the Los Angeles/Orange County Audio Society. Topics include: Is this the Year for High-Resolution Audio?, Room Tuning Techniques from Anthony Grimani, the History of Loudspeaker Design, the Vinyl Experience, Turntable Set-Up, Vinyl Ripping, Computer Audio Demystified and Downloading Music from the Cloud.

Tickets are available here for $15 a day or $40 for the weekend.

Headphones and car audio systems will also be part of the show. Headphones displays will expand to two full ballrooms and various other spots throughout the event. More than two dozen high-end car stereo systems will also be demonstrated. Reus Sound Systems in Orange helped organize the collection, which includes vehicles said to be “very rarely shown outside of private luxury garages.” Cars include a 1919 Ford race car, a 1935 Buick Phaeton convertible, a rare Vector AVTECH WX3 Twin Turbo, and a Mercedes Benz with a Burmester sound system.

The show will also offer wine tasting, cigars, gourmet food trucks and more live entertainment than last year. Live concerts will take place all three days from noon to 6 p.m. and include local and national jazz performers.

Special concert performances are also planned for Friday and Saturday night. On Friday night, attendees will hear Troy MacCubbin, Dean Peer, Lisa Liu, Randy Emata, Mark Damian and Little Faith. On Friday and Saturday night, Nita Whitaker, a former Ms. Louisiana, will appear. She has performed with Andrea Bocelli.

The show will also host a giveaway of $25,000 worth of prizes. Attendees will get a ballot to deposit into entry boxes in participating exhibitors’ rooms for a chance to win DACs, audio cables, high-end speakers from VonSchweikert Audio and amps from Liberty Audio. Winners must be present on Sunday afternoon for the drawing.
