Atlanta – Sherwood is expanding its
selection of networked audio products with a CEDIA Expo launch of the RD-705i A/V
receiver, due in November at a suggested retail price of $499.95.
A non-networked version, the $399.95-suggested
RD-7505, is also due in November.
The networked model comes with
included 802.11n Wi-Fi adapter, UPnP, support for the Windows 7 “play to”
feature, access to Internet radio stations through Reciva and Shoutcast, and
streaming of the Pandora, Aupeo and other streaming music services.
Both A/V receivers also come with
optional stereo Bluetooth adapter, USB port and optional iPod dock.
The Sirius-ready AVRs also decode
all Blu-ray surround formats, feature Dolby Pro Logic IIz, and have an
amplifier section rated at 7×100 watts RMS into 8 ohms. Sherwood’s automated
SNAP system performs all system setup and calibration, including room
equalization, using a provided test microphone.
Each input on both receivers feature an
adjustable A/V sync delay for sources in which picture and sound are not synchronized.
A multi-stage Dynamic Range control can be used for nighttime listening or when
neighbors cannot be disturbed.
Second-room playback is available
with Dual Zone capability, which uses two amplifier channels for stereo
playback while leaving the rest to drive a home theater.
