Madison, Wis. — Industry veteran Rian Cain has joined American TV & Appliance as the regional chain’s appliance division VP.
He succeeds executive VP Keith Zimmerman, who in turn succeeds Dave Shepard, who retires this month as senior VP of American’s electronics division.
In his new post, Cain will have full profit and loss responsibility for the majap division and will oversee all aspects of merchandising, assortment planning, pricing, vendor selection, inventory management and brand positioning. He will also be responsible for the development and strategic direction of the division’s marketing function.
Cain joins American from Sharp Electronics, where he was senior VP of its appliance division. Prior to that, Cain spent 18 years with Maytag, where he held the positions of regional marketing manager, national sales director, merchandising VP and business development VP. His retail experience includes four years in the Los Angeles area with Adray’s Home Electronics and Phil and Jim’s TV & Appliance.
