Sharp Donates 9/11 Memorial Opening Day Counter

New York – Sharp
Electronics is the official sponsor of a 13-foot by 9-foot video wall for the
National September 11 Memorial & Museum installed at its Preview Site at 20
Vesey Street, here.

The official 9/11
Memorial Opening Day Counter, which is part of a $1 million deal by Sharp to
provide future A/V technology support for the Memorial & Museum, provides
the public with the number of days until the official opening of the

9/11
Memorial

on Sept. 11, 2011, as well as animated renderings of the future
site.

New York City Mayor
Michael Bloomberg, 9/11 Memorial president Joe Daniels and board member Monica
Iken, whose husband Patrick lost his life on 9/11, welcomed Sharp Electronics’
chairman/CEO Kozo Takahashi to unveil the display at the 9/11 Memorial Preview
Site today.

In his comments
Takahashi said that Sharp’s donation is “one of the most important things we
have ever done.”

The video wall is
constructed of nine Sharp PN-V601 60-inch professional LCD monitors with very
thin borders, providing a fluid, single-screen effect, Sharp said.
