Diamond Bar, Calif. — Seiki said Monday that it is offering purchasers of its Ultra HD LCD TVs a free Technicolor-certified U-Vision up-converting HDMI cable or adapter.

The limited-time offer, which is extended to both those who have already purchased a Seiki Ultra HD TV or will be buying one shortly, can be redeemed by registering their product at http://bit.ly/U-VISION. The offer runs to April 30.

“Seiki introduced the U-Vision line of 4K HDMI accessories at CES 2014 with high praise, and we pledged to make the exclusive technology available to everyone, especially to those who have supported the Seiki brand, with a purchase of a Seiki 4K Ultra HD TV,” said Frank Kendzora, Seiki executive VP. “The greatest benefit of U-Vision is that it makes 4K Ultra HD TVs more practical now — even without 4K content. FullHD content is optimized and can look near-native-4K in picture quality using U-Vision.”

U-Vision HDMI accessories up-convert HD content from a cable box or Blu-ray player into 4K images for display on UHD screens.

 Seiki said U-Vision products are available as a stand-alone HDMI up-conversion cable or HDMI adapter without cables.

According to the company: “The accessories dramatically enhance image quality, performs edge restoration and noise reduction, and improve texts for better on-screen and subtitle viewing.”

Seiki U-Vision accessories are the first HDMI accessory products certified by the Technicolor 4K Image Certification program.

Both U-Vision products support 1080p up-conversion to 4K video signals up to 30Hz.

Key features of U-Vision video processing include:

• up-conversion of 1080p content up to 4K Ultra HD;

• up-conversion of 720p content up to 1080p;

• adaptive edge enhancement of lines and curves for improved video and user interfaces;

• adaptive sharpening and noise reduction to refine video content;

• low-latency processing for HD video gaming; and

• brightness, contrast and saturation improvement.

Seiki U-Vision 4K up-conversion HDMI accessories are currently available for purchase at Amazon.com, Newegg.com and Fred Meyers stores at a $49.99 suggested retail for the cable version and $59.99 for the adapter.
