SED Hires Former DSI Exec

Tucker, Ga. — SED International has hired former DSI executive Tom Roper for its newly created position of director and general merchandising manager of CE purchasing.

According to a release, Roper has been in the consumer electronics industry for 30 years. Most recently, he was the merchandising and marketing senior VP at DSI. He has also worked for the Home Shopping Network, OfficeMax, Roberds and Rich’s Department Store.

SED, which has been around for 27 years, provides consumer electronics, IT and cellular products to a variety of resellers.

“Consumer electronics is a fast growing segment for SED and one which we are very focused on continuing to grow,” said Jonathan Elster, executive VP. “Our priority is to provide our customers with the products and programs they need to succeed. Tom will play a key role in helping us take the next step in this important category.”
