Sears Stocking eMachines Starting Today

Low-end PC maker eMachines today reported that Sears will start carrying its eTower desktop PC line today.

Sears will carry the eMachines eTower 366c, $499 estimated street price, and the $599 eTower 400i. EMachines jumped into the entry-level PC market in the fourth quarter of 1998 when it shipped about 150,000 units to retail. Stephen Dukker, eMachines CEO, said the company expects to ship 2 million units in 1998.

Earlier this month Sears announced it would add the Apple iMac line to its merchandise mix by Memorial Day.
