Sears, Kmart Offer Disaster Discounts

Hoffman Estates, Ill. – Sears Holdings
is offering 10 percent discounts on select hardlines, including consumer
electronics and major appliances, within states impacted by Hurricane Irene.

The discounts will be valid at select Sears
and Kmart stores in Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New
Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont from
Sept. 7-Sept. 30. FEMA acknowledgement or Red Cross documentation is required.

Exemptions include computers, video
game hardware, prepaid calling cards, iTunes, iPods, converter boxes, microwave
ovens, room air conditioners and all products by LG, Panasonic, Samsung, Sony,
Bose, Onkyo, Electrolux, Jenn-Air, Dacor and Fisher & Paykel.

Sears said the offer, which also
includes 20-percent off apparel and soft home goods, was made to “help states
throughout the Northeast recover from Hurricane Irene’s damaging winds and
flood waters … [and] to help communities get back on their feet with discounts
on much-needed recovery items.”
