Sears Hometown Stores Mark 17th Year

Hoffman Estates,
Ill. – Sears’ independent Hometown Stores are celebrating their 17th anniversary
with a nationwide sweepstakes.

Their month-long
“Share in the Celebration” giveaway features $64,000 in prizes, including Whirlpool
and Samsung stainless -steel kitchen suites, laundry pairs from Samsung and
Fisher & Paykel, GE range and microwave oven packages, and a Sharp 52-inch 120Hz
LED TV and Blu-ray player.

The grand prize is
a 2011 Toyota Tundra and the chance to take part in an awards ceremony at a
local Sears Hometown Store.

The Hometown
Stores, along with their sister Sears Home Appliance Showrooms and Sears
Appliance and Hardware Stores, are mostly independently owned and operated or
franchised. The 1,130 specialty stores are generally located in smaller
communities nationwide, and carry proprietary Sears brands such as Kenmore and Craftsman,
as well as a wide assortment of national brands.

The approximately
970 Hometown Stores sell appliances, consumer electronics, lawn and garden
equipment, tools, fitness equipment, tractor and boat batteries, and
mattresses.

this anniversary sweepstakes because we really want to thank our customers for
their continued support throughout the last 17 years,” said Will Powell, senior
VP of Sears Hometown Stores. “Even with the fluctuations in the economy, the
Sears Hometown Stores have continued to grow, which is a testament to our
customers’ loyalty.”
