New York – Seagate today introduced its first 3TB external hard
drive, the FreeAgent GoFlex Desk.
The drive is available immediately for $249.
The drive can attach to a PC via a USB 2.0, 3.0 or FireWire 800
port.
Seagate said home-storage demands will rapidly grow in the coming
years. The company cited a Parks Associates report that stated household
digital media requirements alone will hit the 900GB level by the end of 2014,
driven by HD video and Blu-ray.
