Savv and Concept International announced new car video lines for spring which include headrest/monitors and a full-featured DVD/monitor/ TV tuner for under $1,900.
Savv is also shipping a unique rearview-mirror monitor, the LBM-S5000. When switched off, the 5-inch monitor appears as a rear view mirror. It has inputs for navigation plus two video inputs. It can also be used with a back-up camera that can be mounted on the rear bumper. The monitor carries a suggested retail price of $299.
Also new from Savv for 2003 is a Se-net car video network link for simple installation of video components and 20 pre-fabricated headrest/monitors that bring the company’s total number of headrests to 75. The headrests accept 5.6-inch and 7-inch screens, sold separately. Headrests carry a suggested retail price of $149 with the 5.6-inch screen available at $259 and the 7-inch screen with Se-net at $469. Concept International’s new all-in-one AM/FM/DVD monitor has a 7–inch fully motorized screen with TV tuner and diversity antenna. Called the IDM777, it also includes 4 by 50-watt built-in power and is expected to ship this spring at a suggested retail price of $1,895. It is joined by a similar unit, without the built-in DVD player, that can connect to an optional six-disc DVD changer. This model, the IM755 carries a suggested retail price of $1,195.
Also new is a DVD player with TV tuner, without screen, called the DVD-168T. It has a 30-function remote and 4x zoom and is NTSC or PAL compatable at $329.
In video screens, Concept is shipping an 8-inch slim-line overhead monitor called the CM-802DR, at $799, and two new headrest monitors with 6-inch and 7-inch swivel-mount screens. Concept also supplies car audio amplifiers that start at $129, and subwoofers that range from $129 to a quad-coil, 18-inch model at $1,299.
Also new in car video from Emerson is the MT-2700, a universal mount, 17-inch flip-down monitor. The 16:9 screen has a resolution of 1,280 by 768 at a suggested retail price of $999.
