– Savant Systems has introduced a new line of Apple-based control and A/V
distribution products called SmartSystems that include iTunes-based digital
media servers.
The new controller
platform replaces the current Rosie and Protégé lines, Savant said.
The expandable
SmartSystems line intuitively manages all home or commercial-setting technologies
including lighting integration, media and A/V distribution, stand-alone home-theater
control, and whole-home automation of multiple services and devices.
The SmartSystem
family includes the SmartControl SSC-0007 and SSC-0025 control-only devices,
which are designed to connect with A/V, lighting, climate and security. Both
models fit within a compact 1U half rack-style enclosure, while the step-up
SSC-0025 features eight RS-232 serial ports, six IR ports, three relay ports,
seven general purpose IO ports (GPIO), and one Ethernet port (10/100 Base-T).
The SmartAudio
SSA-3000 multi-room audio and whole-house control solution, packaged in a 2U
enclosure, delivers stereo preamp processing including independent control of
volume, balance, bass, treble and mute, and enables same and unique music
distribution in up to eight zones. SmartAudio can be navigated and controlled
by an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad utilizing Savant’s TrueControl application available
through the Apple App Store, and can also
be paired with Savant’s 16-channel multi-room power amplifier (AMP-1640) for a
complete distributed audio solution.
The SmartVideo
SSV-1000 provides a single zone of TrueCommand, Savant’s on-TV menu system, plus
video processing and scaling, video switching, and popular control formats for
residential and business applications within a 1U enclosure. SmartVideo also
includes an integrated video processor capable of enhancing image detail using
advanced de-interlacing technology, as well as expanded 12-bit color processing
to transform standard-definition sources to near-HD quality.
The SmartMedia SSM-3100 is a feature-rich
entertainment system that delivers distributed audio, video switching, a single
zone of TrueCommand, and integrated control capability within in a 2U fanless
chassis. It is capable of distributing music in up to eight zones with
the flexibility to play the same content throughout the home or unique content
in each room simultaneously and independently.
The SmartMediaPro
collection, designed for large, complex residential or commercial
installations, includes three single-solution high-bandwidth matrix switchers (SSP-1200,
SSP-2400 and SSP3600) that deliver high capacity multizone audio and video
processing, integrated control and automation, and added flexibility from a
modular and scalable design. SmartMediaPro is field-upgradeable, and can be
paired with a Savant redundant host to provide a reliable, complete and
versatile control solution, Savant said.
