Hyannis, Mass. — Savant Systems is targeting retrofit installations with its first thermostat, which connects to standard thermostat wiring and communicates via Wi-Fi with the company’s SmartSystem home controller.
The SST-W100 thermostat is designed for residential and commercial installations to deliver one- and two-stage control of forced-air, radiant-heat, heat pump and HVAC systems, the company said.
Multiple thermostats can be set up inside a home, and from each thermostat’s 128×64 backlit graphical display, users can control the temperature and humidity of any zone equipped with a Savant thermostat. Settings can also be controlled from remote locations.
Up to two separately sold remote temperature sensors can be connected to the thermostat to fine-tune temperature control according to an average of the remote sensors and the thermostat’s built-in sensor. The built-in sensor can be also disabled to rely only on one or two remote sensors, enabling the thermostat to be installed out of sight.
An optional flush-mount kit is available.
The device is shipping at a retail price that Savant did not disclose. The company said dealers set prices.
