Sanyo Adds 1080 Dual Cam

Chatsworth, Calif. —

Sanyo North
America

introduced Thursday a FullHD 1080 dual camera/camcorder with
embedded software for easy file sharing with social networking sites.

The pocket-size VPC-PD2BK (shipping in September at a $170
suggested retail) offers 1080/30fps video recording, 10 MP still capture, 3x
optical zoom in a compact form factor that is about the size of a deck of
cards.

The embedded software on the camera is said to make it easy to
shoot and share images on services including Facebook, YouTube and Picasa.

Also included are two microphones on the sides of the camera to
record stereo sound.

“The new PD2BK delivers amazing 10MP photos and 1080 archive
quality video with 3x optical zoom,” stated Tom Van Voy, Sanyo North
America digital solutions division VP and general manager. “Now users have both
a convenient, ultra easy form factor and archive quality photos and videos that
they will be proud to display on their HDTVs or share with friends and family
from their computer.”

The VPC-PD2BK adds a High Speed Sequential Shooting Mode and a
built-in USB connector.

Files can be saved to SD, SDHC or ultra-high capacity SDXC (up to
64GB) memory cards.
