Milpitas, Calif. — SanDisk will ship its first Cruzer USB drive with online back-up features to dealers in March.
The new, 4GB Titanium Plus drive offers online back-up through BeInSync. Using the drive, consumers can have data automatically uploaded to BeInSync’s servers (which is being provided by Amazon Web Services).
Once uploaded, files can be accessed through any Internet browser via a password protected Web page.
The drive will ship with six months worth of free back-up service, after which it costs $29.99 per year.
The Cruzer Titanium Plus will also offer optional password protection, two years of free BoomerangIt product recovery service, and will retail for a suggested $59.99.
