Samsung Telecom Names Sales SVP

Dallas – Samsung Telecommunications America appointed Brian
Rosenberg as sales senior VP for North America, reporting directly to president
Dale Sohn.

Rosenberg is responsible for mobile device sales and directing
overall sales, delivery, and customer satisfaction for carriers and retail
channels, the company said.

Rosenberg, a 20-year telecom veteran, joins Samsung from Ericsson
North America, where he was executive VP/GM on the AT&T global customer
account. He started at Ericsson in 1995 as the project manager for the Pacific
Bell Mobile Services GSM build-out. He was also responsible for sales and
business development for 3G networks in the U.S.

A Strategy Analytics report called Samsung the No. 1 cellphone
supplier in the U.S. based on third-quarter shipments, but Sohn said the
company would tap Rosenberg’s experience to further boost share. “Brian’s
leadership and experience will be a key component toward our goal of increasing
our U.S. market share and introducing new and exciting products to our loyal
customers,” Sohn said.

Samsung also announced that research company Gartner found
Samsung to rank No. 1 in Android smartphone sell-through to U.S. consumers in
the third quarter. Samsung Mobile captured 32.1 percent of the U.S. Android
smartphone market in the third quarter, up from 9.2 percent in the fourth
quarter of 2009, Samsung said.
