Samsung Mobile Parties With Kanye West

New York – Samsung Mobile paid the way for more than 1,000 of its Facebook and Twitter fans to attend a party and exclusive Kanye West concert celebrating the launch of the Galaxy Note II smartphone/tablet and the cellular-equipped Galaxy Camera.

During the event, Samsung announced that LeBron James will promote the Galaxy Note II in an upcoming TV ad.

Consumers attending the party got a chance to play with both devices at demonstration stations staffed by celebrity hosts. Interior designer Kelly Wearstler, for example, demonstrated applications of use to interior designers. Chef Alfred Portale of Gotham Bar and Grill and Milk and Honey mixologist Sam Ross helped attendees order custom cocktails and desserts via the Note II. Attendees used the Note II’s Air View feature to hover over a picture gallery of several cocktail and dessert options, then used wireless S Beam technology to place an order.

Photographer Tyler Shields captured and customized photos taken by with the Galaxy Note II and Galaxy Camera. And Artist Futura curated attendees’ contributions to a piece of art created during the event. Each attendee used the Note II’s S Pen stylus to contribute to the art piece.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II smartphone features a larger screen, redesigned S Pen and quad-core processor in a chassis that’s thinner and lighter than its predecessor’s. The Note II is available through T-Mobile and Sprint, and Verizon Wireless today began taking pre-orders with availability planned in the next several weeks. AT&T today also launched pre-orders for in-store and online availability on Nov. 9, and U.S. Cellular will make its version available online and in stores on Friday, Oct. 26.

AT&T will offer the Galaxy Camera in time for the holidays at a price not yet disclosed.
