Samsung Debuts 1st Muve Music Android Smartphone

San Diego – Cricket
Communications and Samsung Telecommunications America announced that Cricket’s
unlimited music service, Muve Music, is now available on the Samsung Vitality.

The Vitality is the
first Android smartphone to have Muve Music, and the second Samsung device —
it’s also available on the Samsung Suede feature phone. The companies said more
Muve Music-enabled handsets are due to launch later this year.

The Vitality, which
comes preloaded with a Muve Music 4GB SanDisk flash-memory card, operates on
the Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform powered by a 800MHz processor. An 8GB card
is available separately and reportedly holds up to 6,000 songs from the
service.

 Vitality features include Android Market,
Gmail, Google Maps and Google Talk.  It
has a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen, 3.2-megapixel camera/camcorder and stereo
Bluetooth.

Customers who choose a
Muve Music Android will pay $65 per month for their wireless rate plan, the
companies said. The Unlimited Muve Android rate plan comes with full-song
downloads; ringtones; ringback tones; nationwide calling; nationwide text,
picture and video messaging; and email and data backup.

Suggested retail is $219,
but it wil be available next week for $199 with a $20 instant rebate.

Cricket is a wholly-owned
subsidiary of Leap Wireless International.
