Lake Success, N.Y. - Long-time industry veteran Jodi Sally officially joined the ranks of Coby Electronics as the company's new marketing VP.
Sally, who had served as Toshiba America Consumer Products digital A/V group marketing VP in Wayne, N.J., had been with that company for more than 10 years, before it recently consolidated operations into Toshiba America Information Systems, based in Irvine, Calif. Sally helped Toshiba maintain the successful launch of DVD and took the point in the U.S. for the launch of the HD DVD platform.
Earlier she had served at Panasonic for 15 years, advancing to the position of national marketing manager, DVD.
Sally reports directly to Coby president Mike Troetti, who joined the company in June 2010, from Sharp Electronics.
Sally is charged with identifying, launching and managing product development across the company's numerous categories in concert with the company's established sales and marketing team.
"An accomplished sales and marketing professional, Jodi has a proven track record of success at some of the largest CE companies in the industry, and we're thrilled to welcome her to Coby," said Troetti. "Jodi has strong relationships with many key retailers and she'll provide us with an exceptional opportunity to expand our business. She'll lead Coby's marketing effort and develop strategic, long-term growth plans to further enhance our presence within the CE community."
"This is a very exciting time in consumer electronics with many emerging technologies and red-hot new categories, and I'm excited to join Coby and work with the exceptional product development, sales and marketing teams to maximize the company's opportunities," said Sally. "I look forward to furthering the growth of Coby's brand and market share in the U.S. while realizing its very promising product strategies."
