Russound Expands Custom Line

Newmarket, N.H. — Russound expanded its selection of HDD music servers to two and launched its first in-wall touch screen, a color model.

The new server, the $3,399-street-price SMS3-250, features 250GB storage, up from the current model’s 160GB, at a street price of $2,899. Other changes include the ability to manually add cover art for discs whose cover art wasn’t available through a Muse database download. Like the first model, the new model stores digital pictures but now allows them to be viewed as a slide show. Other improvements include continuous automatic backup mode and enhanced metadata editing.

Both servers stream up to three different songs simultaneously.

The $1,299-street-price UNO-TS2 in-wall color touch screen, also available, features a 3.75-inch color touch screen and hard buttons for frequently used commands. When the two-gang device is connected to sources equipped with Russound’s two-way RNET connections, the touch screens display such information as song and album titles, artist information and XM Satellite Radio channel name.
