Tempe, Ariz. – Rockford Fosgate has expanded its Punch
selection of loaded subwoofer enclosures, all designed for shallow mounting
depths behind truck seats.
In launching three new models, Rockford Fosgate is adding an
enclosure with 8-inch driver to the line. Two other new models feature 10- and
12-inch drivers like their predecessors.
The new Punch P3S line of sealed, loaded enclosures consists
of the $249-suggested 150-watt (RMS) P3S-1X8 enclosure with 8-inch driver, the
$279 300-Watt (RMS) P3S-1X10 with 10-inch driver, and the $299 400-watt (RMS)
P3S-1X12 with 12-inch driver. All feature wedge-shaped design.
Though small, the subs play loud because of their high power
handling and 1-ohm loads, said product development director Jake Braaten.
New features include aluminum cones, low-profile surround,
and included trim ring ready for an optional stamped-mesh grille insert, the
company said.
The products also feature quick-release input terminals,
carpeting, and 5/8-inch MDF walls.
The introductions
follow the launch of the brand’s first two enclosed powered subwoofers in
several years. The Punch-series systems are the $279-suggested P300-10 with
10-inch driver and $299 P300-12 with 12-inch driver, both with sealed-enclosure
that houses a 300-watt amplifier. Both are designed for OEM-system integration
or for saving space when building an aftermarket car audio system from the
ground up.
