Rockford Fosgate Ships ’13 Prime Series

Tempe, Ariz. — Rockford Fosgate has begun shipping its 2013 Prime series of full-range speakers and amplifiers.

The Klippel-verified Prime series is said to increase power handling over the former series. The two-way drivers have a horn-loading design that provides a phase-correct relationship with the mid and tweeter, providing better off-axis sound, the company said.

The 3-way loudspeakers are designed with a 0.5-inch tweeter mount so it can more easily fit behind factory door panels. All models come with grilles, speaker wire and connectors.

The line of Prime amplifiers has common chassis design with an increase in thermal mass per square inch; top mount controls (crossover, phase, input switch, gain control and Punch EQ); and included Punch Level Control (in select models), Rockford Fosgate said. The six models also accept signal from low-level sources via RCA or from high-level speaker inputs via the included connector.
