Indianapolis — hhgregg has named former RadioShack store operations head Troy Risch as COO.
He succeeds Gregg Throgmartin, the company’s former executive VP/COO and son of late chairman Jerry Throgmartin, who left the business last month to run a specialty bicycle chain.
Risch resigned from RadioShack last week as store operations executive VP after little more than a year on the job. He joined the retailer after 19 years at Target, where his last position was stores executive VP.
hhgregg described the hire as “a key addition to [the] leadership team … as the company continues to focus on executing its strategic initiatives to transform the business.”
In a statement, president/CEO Dennis May said, “Troy’s expansive experience in retail store operations and real estate will be instrumental in driving the strategic initiatives for hhgregg’s long-term growth.”
