RadioShack is now carrying TiVo Series 2 Dual Tuner DVRs and TiVo Wireless G adapters in more than 3,000 stores across the country and online at www.RadioShack.com, the companies announced.
The distribution agreement significantly expands the number of storefronts offering the stand-alone DVR unit.
The Wireless G adapter will enable the TiVo Series2 DVR to add on a number of networking-related services, including the TiVo To Go service, that allows recordings made on a TiVo Series 2 device to be shared with a connected PC or laptop.
It will also enable TiVo Online Scheduling and TiVo Online Services. The latter allows a broadband connected Series2 to display on connected TV screens digital still photos from a connected PC or the Internet, and check local weather and traffic from Yahoo!. Additionally, subscribers can browse and buy movie tickets from Fandango, listen to podcasts and music on Live365.
TiVo also recently added a KidZone feature that helps parents set up the DVR to automatically find and record children’s programming selected by a variety of parenting and family groups.
The TiVo Series2 Dual Tuner DVR is available in an 80-hour model priced at $99 after $150 rebate and service activation.
