Charlotte, N.C. — Queen City Audio Video & Appliances, the NATM Buying Corp. chain with 12 stores throughout the greater Charlotte area, will acquire Mac’s TV, a single storefront brown- and white-goods dealer based in Morganton, N.C.
The merger, slated for Jan. 1, will help expand Queen City’s trading area into western North Carolina. Terms of the buyout were not disclosed.
According to Queen City’s chief financial officer Roddy Player, Queen City plans to open a distribution center in Morganton to service western North Carolina, creating additional jobs in sales service and distribution.
Queen City will replace the Mac’s name with its own, and will relocate the retail/builder showroom to a larger facility while opening additional locations, including a newly leased storefront in Hickory, N.C., that’s set for a February opening. Mac’s president Keith Saunders will remain with Queen City as district manager, overseeing the western North Carolina stores.
“The two companies make a perfect match with their similar history, common philosophies and common goals.I look forward to being a part of such a strong and progressive organization,” Saunders said.
