Pure Digital To Give Video Recorders To Non-Profits

New York — Pure Digital will offer its Flip Video flash-based camcorders to non-profits in a donor-match program, the company said at the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) meeting.

The Flip Video Spotlight program is designed to give non-profits and non-government organizations (NGOs) the ability to document their activities around the world.

In December, Pure Digital will launch FlipVideoSpotlight.com where qualified non-profits and NGOs can purchase a Flip camcorder. Donors will also be able to make purchases or donations through the site on behalf of affiliated non-profits or NGOs. Pure Digital said it would offer a free Spotlight kit for each one purchased with the intention of distributing 1 million camcorders over the next five years.

Each attendee at the CGI meetings has also been given a Flip Video camcorder.

The Flip Video flash-based camcorders feature built-in software for editing and uploading video to popular sharing sites such as YouTube and MySpace. The company launched a new Ultra series earlier this month.
