Anaheim, Calif. –
Premier Mounts has unveiled its GB-AVSTOR4 gearbox meant for storing A/V
components above a false ceiling.
The 12-inch by 24-inch
ceiling equipment storage GearBox is ideal for classrooms and meeting rooms,
according to the company, and can replace about half of a standard 2-foot by
2-foot false ceiling tile. Its perforated lid is designed to look like a
standard HVAC return register when closed to blend in with the rest of the
ceiling.
Features of the
GB-AVSTOR4 ($449 suggested retail) include an internal detachable equipment
mounting tray to secure electronic gear, a removable locking door with
perforated grid pattern to allow for ventilation and equipment service, single
and dual-gang knockouts with removable cover plates for knockouts that are not
in use, and a Quick Lock cable kit for ceiling installations.
It also comes with
concrete, truss and wood stud mounting hardware; cable ties to secure equipment
to the mounting tray; and three different key combinations.
Premier also introduced
the GB-AVSTOR3 version ($649), which is meant to replaces a full-sized 2-foot
by 2-foot ceiling tile.
