Accessories supplier Peerless-AV is launching the industry’s first powered outdoor-rated (IP65) soundbar for use with outdoor TVs, the company said.
Other outdoor soundbars are passive models that are amplified by the internal audio amplifiers of an outdoor TV, so output is limited to 20 watts total, the company said.
The $699 60-watt Xtreme Outdoor Soundbar delivers 50Hz – 20kHz audio and features IP65 rating to withstand the weather. It ships Dec. 1 with a universal mounting option for integration with any display or TV. It also features stereo Bluetooth.
