Polk Launches Giveaway To Promote HitMaster Game Speaker

Baltimore – Polk
Audio is promoting its first game-console speaker, designed for music-playing
games, with a national promotion that awards up to $5,000 in prizes to
consumers.

The promotion,
dubbed “Rock The House – The Ultimate 3-D Gaming Giveaway,” runs from April 21
through June 20, with the grand-prize winner getting a 3D game system worth
$3,000. The system includes a 60-inch Mitsubishi 3-D Ready DLP
HDTV (model WD60737); three XpanD X102 DLP-Link
stereoscopic active 3-D glasses; Sanus widescreen TV furniture; Sony’s PS3
gaming console with Blu-ray, Rock Band 2 Special Edition, The Beatles: Rock
Band; and three Polk game-console speakers, dubbed HitMaster.

To register to
win, consumers must visit

to get promotion details, official rules and HitMaster information. No purchase
is needed.

The $99 HitMaster, available earlier this
year, is a powered speaker that takes on the appearance of a pro-audio stage
monitor to bolster the illusion of performing on stage. It features a
single-point-stereo driver configuration to deliver a wide stereo soundfield
from a single cabinet.

Polk developed HitMaster because the audio
portion of the gaming experience “has been greatly underserved by the
electronics industry,” said marketing VP Al Ballard. Products such as HitMaster
add “volume, depth and detail to the gaming experience,” he said.

Four other prize packages will also be awarded.

Second prize consists of three Hitmaster
monitors, Sony’s PS3, Rock Band 2 Special Edition, a one-year subscription to
Game Informer, and several HitMaster and Rock Band t-shirts, all with a total
value of more than $800.

Third prize,
valued at more than $500, includes one HitMaster, Sony’s PS3, Rock Band 2
Special Edition, a one-year subscription to Game Informer, and HitMaster and
Rock Band t-shirts.

Fourth and fifth prizes,
each valued at about $280, consist of one HitMaster, Rock Band 2 Special
Edition, a one-year subscription to Game Informer, and HitMaster and Rock Band
t-shirts.
