Polaroid Kids Tablet Updated

Minneapolis — An updated version of the Polaroid-branded kid-geared tablet is now available, adding dual cameras, more preloaded apps, more RAM and a faster processor.

The tablet is manufactured by Southern Telecom, an authorized Polaroid licensee.

The 7-inch Kids Tablet 2 has a $149 suggested retail. Specs include Android 4.2 OS, 1,024 by 600 resolution, 8GB internal storage with SD card slot, 1GB RAM, dual-core 1.6GHz Cortex-A9 processor and 802.1b/g/n Wi-Fi. It has a 0.3-megapixel front camera, 2-megapixel rear camera and a 3,500 mAh lithium-ion battery.

The company has partnered with Disney, Marvel and Cartoon Network for content, and the tablet ships with more than 70 preloaded apps and books.

Other features include side and rear bumpers, and a display lock for watching uninterrupted videos.

The first version is being discontinued.
