PlumChoice Expands HQ

Lowell, Mass. – PlumChoice, a leading third-party provider of customer IT support for retailers, manufacturers, carriers and other businesses, has added a 7,300-square-foot training facility to its corporate headquarters, here.

The expansion comes in response to a 48 percent increase in the company’s subscriber base since relocating here 18 months ago, and extends the headquarters space to more than 44,000 square feet.

CEO Bob Badavas said the company’s rapid growth reflects the proliferation of connected devices, apps and cloud-based software programs that increase the complexity of home and small business technology environments. The company also plans to hire several hundred new staffers this year to keep pace with continued industry growth and increased IT demand.

The new training facility will serve as an onboarding and education hub for current and future employees, and supports PlumChoice’s initiative to deploy more local tech-support agents more quickly, the company said. PlumChoice’s hub-and-spoke employment model supports the hiring, training and ongoing education of support agents who are trained in-house and then work from home.

“By expanding our facilities, we’re able to more rapidly deploy both local and national talent, closely engage with our agents during their initial onboarding, and offer ongoing, in-house education that benefits our employees, our tech support partners, and the consumers and small business owners we serve,” explained customer service senior VP David Temlak.

Badavas added, “The rapid deployment of specially trained agents is essential for us to remain nimble on behalf of our partners in the evolving Internet of Everything.”
