Pioneer Unveils 2 Headphone Lines

Long Beach, Calif. – Pioneer
Electronics introduced two lines of headphones on Thursday.

Both lines — known as DJ
Inspired and Core Audio — feature headphones that are less than the $99.99
price point.

The DJ Inspired line was
created in response to the broadening interest in DJs and club culture, Pioneer
said, and consists of four models, all with 40mm drivers.

The SE-MJ5 Om headphones
($89.99 suggested retail) feature velour and leather-type interchangeable ear
pads, a max input power of 1,500mW with 105dB sensitivity, a 2-meter OFC Litz
extension cord, and 3.5mm and 6.5mm adapters. They can be folded for
portability.

The SE-MJ71 Steel Wheels
($79.99) also have a folding design and come in black, silver and gold aluminum
finishes. Max input power is listed at 1,200mW with 105dB sensitivity.

The other two DJ Inspired
models are the SE-MJ31 Loop ($69.99) and the SE-MJ21 EQ ($59.99), each offered
in several colors. All of these headphones will be available at retail in
August.

The Core Audio line of
headphones consists of three models, all at the lower end of the pricing line.
The SE-CE11 ($19.99) ear buds have 14mm drivers and come in black or white. A
carrying case is included. The SE-CL07 ($24.99) have 10mm drivers but a
slightly higher sensitivity (100db vs. 98db). They come in white, blue, pink
and black. Both will be available in September.

The SE-M290 ($44.99,
August) over-ear headphones boast velour earpads, 40mm drivers, 3.5mm and 6.3mm
adapters. Max input power is listed at 1,200mW with a 102dB sensitivity.
