Redmond, Wash. — Microsoft said it signed a cross-licensing agreement with Pioneer that will foster innovation in automotive navigation and televisions.
Under the agreement, Microsoft and Pioneer will share access to their innovations and patent portfolios.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Microsoft said it is being compensated by Pioneer.
Microsoft has similar deals with Alpine, Kenwood, JVC Americas, LG Electronics, Samsung and others.
Pioneer was not available for comment.
