Pioneer Adds Two A/V Home-Theater Receivers

Long Beach, Calif. — Pioneer Electronics today introduced two home-theater A/V receivers.

The new models are the SC-71 and SC-72 and will ship in June with respective prices of $1,000 and $1,400.

Both receivers feature 7.2-channel, Class D3 amplification technology, multizone network capability, 4K Ultra HD up-scaling and wireless control via Pioneer’s free iControlAV2013 app.

The SC-72 multizone features add the ability to adjust tone, volume, balance and can add a fourth zone.

The receivers are certified for control compatibility with many custom installation companies, including Crestron and Control4. In addition, they can play back the major file formats and content from a networked computer or connected USB drive.

Each is Windows 8 and DLNA 1.5 certified. They can also access Internet music services like Pandora and stream music from iOS devices using Apple’s AirPlay.
