Philips Headphones Tap The Lightning For Power

LAS VEGAS — Woox Innovations is launching Philips-licensed headphones with a built-in DAC powered by an iOS’s Lightning connector.

Woox is a Gibson Brands company.

The Fidelio M2L headphones feature a direct digital connection to an iOS device via the Lightning connector, with a 24-bit DAC and amplification in the headphones. Using the digital output eliminates the potential for crosstalk and interference, according to the company.

Other features include 40mm drivers, closed-back design, and leather-wrapped memory-foam ear cushions.

Pascal van Laer, headphones business leader at Woox Innovatoins, said in a statement: “We’re excited to launch the Philips Fidelio M2L, our first headphone that has a direct digital connection to your iOS device. This means we can deliver an incredible audio experience today, and also opens up exciting opportunities for innovation for the future.”

They will be available in the spring for a $299 suggested retail.
