New York — Pentax announced today that it has been named a national sponsor and “the Official Digital Camera of Six Flags Theme Parks” for the amusement chain’s 28 U.S. parks, beginning with the 2005 theme park season.
Under the agreement, Pentax will expand its presence at the parks and have category exclusivity and promotional rights in-park. All Six Flags parks will feature Pentax Picture Spots where visitors can take photos with life-size character cutouts of the park’s mascot, Mr. Six.
The two companies will offer a free admission to the park to any Pentax camera owner who presents their camera on one of three select days during the 2005 season. At 10 select parks, Pentax “Click Crews” using the OptioWP will snap photos and offer photography assistance to park attendees, who will then be able to view the photos on a Pentax Web page.
